On Friday, June 20th, Kurt was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and has been transferred to UC San Diego to begin treatment. The amount of support, prayers, thoughts, generosity, concern, etc has been incredible and we could not ask for a better group of friends and family!
With that said, it has been a bit overwhelming for both of us to repeat the same information over and over so we decided it would be best to have a central location where we can keep everyone updated on his progress. - Is there anything Kurt needs that I can send him? Thank you all for the offer! We have everything we need, in fact, if you want to borrow a movie, come on down!
- Is there anything I cannot send or bring when I visit? Yes, the following are prohibited: fresh flowers, fresh fruit, vegetables, anyone even close to being sick and children
- Is there anything I can do to help? Keep an optimistic attitude and throw as much positive energy his way!
- How long will he be there? As of now, Kurt will be here for at least a few months. If he goes into remission they will try for a bone marrow transplant in the beginning of January 2011.
