Hi everyone,
there’s still not a whole lot of news to report on, but it has been a few days so I figured I'd let you know how I'm doing. Aside from having to manage through a few headaches here and there, everything has been just fine. I feel really good and actually starting to feel stronger due to my 25 minute morning exercises. It's amazing what a half an hour can do for the body and mind. I actually had some muscle soreness the other day what excited me. Never thought some sore back muscles could lift my spirits like they did, but they did and just motivated me for more. That has been a huge part of keeping my attitude and spirits in the right place.
As far as treatment goes and as I wrote earlier, everything is on hold until my blood counts go up. When they do, which should be in 10 days or so, we'll do another bone marrow test as see how much cancer I have left. From there it's either round 3 of chemo or transplant time.
Team Chrome Dome has really gained some momentum and people who I never thought would touch the precious little hairs on their heads, let alone buzz them off, have stepped up and gone chrome. As surprised as I am, I'm not shocked. I know you guys and can't tell you how much I appreciate the showing of support. You really are an amazing group of people and I don't for a second question how lucky I am to have you as my best friends and family. I am one lucky SOB and I know it, so thank you very much.
That's all I got this time around. As news comes up I will relay to all of you as always. Thanks again for your support by reading my posts and posting messages yourselves. They mean a lot to me and go a long way on my end.
Take care and be well. We'll catch up soon.

What is Kurt's diagnosis?
AML is a type of cancer in which the bone marrow makes abnormal myeloblasts (a type of white blood cell), red blood cells, or platelets.
Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. This type of cancer usually gets worse quickly if it is not treated. It is the most common type of acute leukemia in adults. AML is also called acute myelogenous leukemia, acute myeloblastic leukemia, acute granulocytic leukemia, and acute nonlymphocytic leukemia.

Hey Kurt-
You are more active than I am while you are in the hospital.... Damn!!
Keep up the good work... You will have to work on getting a copy of The Dark Knight along with Ironman... Good flicks.
Glad to hear you are enjoying your morning exercises. I too am impressed with Team Chrome Dome but no surprise to see so much support for you! Thinking of you and thanks for the update. I hope your bood count goes up and the next step is the transplant!
Hugs,
Tracy, Rafer, Luther and Estelle
PS Have a mentioned we are taking the kiddos to Germany in Sept. and will be there during Oktoberfest? We would love to bring back something for you, let us know what you miss!
I saw Tommy's mohawk picture...nice! Van does look a tad bit Omish with the facial hair and all. The key to Chrome Dome is a nice noggin and good face...I know Kurt was rocking it pretty nicely. We need pics of the "Chrome Dome" guys...is there a Wed Blue Glove Pocker Night photo opp in a few days???
BTW, all of the girls are going to do the Anaheim Light the Night walk...fo'sure!!! It won't be bay to breakers, but we can skip the man nudity.
Kurt,
I am amazed by your strength and courage.
I am so happy to hear the good news on the bone marrow matches and know it will be soon for you to be healthy and home.
Take care,
Kenny N.

Sup Kurt,
Well, our Angels did it again (Red Who>?) and hopefully they can continue the string of wins and hot bats.
It's funny because some of last years best players still haven't caught fire yet: Figgens is still well below his average, Vlad and even Anderson aren't quite there yet... thank goodness for Hunter and the rest of the middle line up like Kendrick. Hopefully Rivera can continue his positive trend too. (imagine here a ppt slide showing a nice line graph trending upwards showing increasing multiple base hits and homers.. just a work flash back for you)
I'd guess the waiting/boredom must be one of the hardest parts of this thing-- you'll get your chance to step back up to the plate soon enough- so get your rest and 'be the ball'.
Had to throw in the Chevy reference.
TB
missed you this weekend.
see you thursday it sounds like instead of wednesday.
its poker time...
:)
Hey Man.. Missed you on Sunday! Normal sillyness, the crome dome pic is pretty good, someone at my office thought we were at a skin head rally. Still can't believe Sul did it had to pay alfredo a $20spot, never like to do that. Gotta say Gabby looked good in that top Al!
see you soon buddy.
Steve
Hey Kurt-
An Angels no-no would have been nice!
Oh well, just another Angels victory.
Take care
Can you at least put up some scores or news on days nothing is going on.
FYI- 38 days till the Irish start their Championship run.
Championship run?
Nah, Buckeyes are going to take care of business this year!
Cheer, cheer for Old Notre Dame,
Wake up the echoes cheering her name,
Send a volley cheer on high,
Shake down the thunder from the sky!
What though the odds may be great or small,
Old Notre Dame will win over all,
While her loyal sons are marching
Onward to victory!
Rae and I are looking at the great pics of the boys from Catalina. What a fine looking bunch of baldies! You have a GREAT team Kurt and althought the girls are keeping the hair (I am sure you prefer it that way) We are all behind you as well.
All our best,
K and Rae

Hi Kurt,
It's Mike. I just found out from your Dad, your condition, when we went to the Angel game last week. It sounds like you're on a good plan and that things are going along. I wish you all the best with your treatment and getting past this challenge. You're a strong dude, so I have no doubt that you'll recover and be kicking our butts on the ski slopes as before.
Take care and I'll come back here and visit you soon.
Our best always,
Mike (& Alice)
