Round 2 - Day - %@!!!

HI Everyone- a lot has happened between last week. I wish I could say it was all good but I can't. Seems that through the ecoli, fevers, food poisoning, stomach pains, etc, I very well could have picked up pneumonia. In fact, I do now have pneumonia and pleurisy. It is unfortunatley the kind that is pretty painful so anything that has to do with headaches or my other pain has now shifted to my lungs and diaphragm which is where my pneumonia lies.
All it takes is a simple shift, movement, breathing, walking, coughing, practically anything sets off a mountain of pain. I have been battling this pain, high fevers, and complete loss of all my taste buds since last week.
Unfortunatley, the only thing that can really treat my pneumonia is my white blood cells and they do not exist due to the chemo that I finished. I am now on all kinds of anti-fungal, anti-biotic, and basically the strongest drugs they make. The doctors are saying my white cells should come up after Day 21 and today is Day 15 (from my chemo treatment). The fact that I have no taste buds has made it quite difficult to eat. My hair is also starting to fall out so I had Tommy give me a nice buzz cut today.
Thanks again for checking in. I know you guys have a lot going on in your own lives. Its a really good feeling knowing that there are people out there that are thinking about me.

While the news is not yet what we're all hoping for - it is still good to be able to follow your progress. You and Evey are in our prayers every day. I wish there was more that the rest of us could do...but, we are with you in spirit and prayer.

Sending our love and aloha,
Monica, Joe & Marisol Guillena

Kurt and Evey....
Love you guys, and am thinking about you everyday. My good friend Tanya from SA that was helping you with some plans for the honeymoon is just devastated for you both about the latest news. Just know that we're keeping you in our prayers everyday. We wish there was something we could do. I know that there is a reason everyday that I wear a Livestrong bracelet and it's dedicated to loved ones we've lost and loved ones that continue everyday to fight the battle. Just continue fighting Kurt. LIVESTRONG

Love to you both!

Kurt,
The old saying no news is good news, does not apply here!!Any news from you guys is so appreciated, it makes those of us who have not been with you feel like we have.I know ther are three things in this world you can count on, your strength, your courage, and your Evey. (I am sure you have many more, but these three I am sure of).Your battles are hard and your pain is severve, but you are the General in this war against your body. (ok maybe Evey is the General, but you are definately next in command). Stay stong in spirit and mind and hopefully soon your body will follow. We are sending lots of love and good energy your way.

Kurt,

It is amazing the little things we learn to appreciate! An update from you is so huge! Keep up the fight commander, you have lots of soldiers behind you. And to that pretty lady by your side, we are so very proud of you!

I still see a healthy body and a big beautiful smile...

Abrazos,

Fluffy

Kurt, you are by far one of the strongest guys I have ever met -- stay strong and know you have so much to look forward to when you get through all this! You know you both have all our love and support. We will teach grant to say prayers for you every night as he probably has more pull with the man upstairs than I :-)!

And Evey - Anything we can do, just ask. That includes in B-Lo btw with our rep out there...

Oh Kurt, I am so sorry that you have to endure this now too. I try to think of words of encouragement, but it seems that nothing is really appropriate.
You are a ray of sunshine to everyone who knows you, and you make our so-called challenges seem so petty. Your courage and strength dwarfs them all.
Sending you so much love and praying for you to feel better -

Dear Kurt,

It’s been a long, long time… I recently heard of your diagnosis and wanted to let you know that I was thinking of you and sending you my heartfelt wishes for your full recovery. It looks like you’ve been battling this for a couple years now and sorry I’m so late. I would like to help; I am a cancer research consultant for a drug company developing leukemia (specifically CLL) and lymphoma drugs. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if I can provide any information to you.

Take good care, and again, my best wishes for your full recovery.
